Reading Shir HaShirim to Draw Chesed into One’s Life
It is well known that the author of
“Shir HaShirim” was Shlomo HaMelech.
Shlomo HaMelech uses his name in
“Shir HaShirim” 7 times.
It is stated in
“Avot de-Rabbi Natan” (39:4) that Shlomo HaMelech had
7 names:
- Shlomo, Yedidya, Kohelet;
- Agur, Ben Yakeh, Itiel ve-Ukal; (Mishlei 30:1)
- Lemuel. (Mishlei 31:1)
All
7 names of Shlomo HaMelech correspond to the
7 Sefirot:
1.
Shlomo – Chesed,
2.
Yedidya - Gevurah,
3.
Kohelet - Malchut,
4.
Agur – Tiferet,
5.
Ben Yakeh - Netzach,
6.
Lemuel - Yesod,
7.
Itiel ve-Ukal - Hod.
In
“Shir HaShirim”, of all the names, only the name
Shlomo is used, corresponding to the Sefirah of
Chesed. Thus, by reading Shir HaShirim, we draw the forces of Chesed to ourselves
7 times.

Great Mercy and
goodness of the Almighty annul all
