Prayer for Protection from Rocket Attacks by Rabbi Yehuda Fatiyah

The great Kabbalist, Rav Yehuda Fatiyah, presents a powerful segula for protection during a rocket attack in wartime. It may be recited in advance as well (if an impending attack is known about), as well as at the moment when the rockets are in the air. First, one should recite Tehillim 20, followed by pesukim from Tanakh. Hema kar'u ve-nafalu, va-anachnu kamnu va-nit'oded. Adonai hoshi'ah, hamelech ya'anenu veyom kor'enu.   Translation (1) For the conductor. A psalm concerning David. (2) May the L-rd answer you on the day of trouble; may the name of the G-d of Jacob fortify you. (3) May He send you help from the Sanctuary and support you from Zion. (4) May He remember all your offerings and turn your burnt offering to ashes as a sign of favor. Selah! (5) May He grant you your heart's desire and fulfill all your plans. (6) We will rejoice in Your salvation and raise a banner in the name of our G-d. May the L-rd fulfill all your wishes. (7) Now I know that the L-rd saves His anointed one; He will answer him from His holy heavens with the mighty saving power of His right hand. (8) Some rely on chariots and others on horses, but we invoke the name of the L-rd, our G-d. (9) They have knelt and fallen, but we have risen and prevailed. (10) L-rd, save us! May the King answer us on the day we call.   12 Pesukim from Tanakh: 1. Bamidbar 10:35 וַיְהִי בִּנְסֹעַ הָאָרֹן וַיֹּאמֶר מֹשֶׁה קוּמָה יְיָ וְיָפֻצוּ אֹֽיְבֶיךָ וְיָנֻסוּ מְשַׂנְאֶיךָ מִפָּנֶֽיךָ - “Va-yehi binso'a ha-aron va-yomer Moshe: ‘Kumah Adonai ve-yafutzu oyevecha, ve-yanusu mesanecha mi-panecha.’ (And it came to pass, when the Ark set out, that Moses said: “Arise, L-rd, and let Your enemies be scattered, and let those who hate You flee before You.”)   2. (May the L-rd cause your enemies who rise against you to be defeated before you; they will advance against you by one road, but flee before you by seven roads.)   3. (No one will stand against you; the L-rd, your G-d, will instill fear and dread of you throughout the entire land upon which you tread, as He told you.)   4. Ka-even yidmu zero'acha bi-gdol va-fachad eimata aleihem tipol.” (May terror and fear fall upon them; at the greatness of Your arm, may they be still as stone. As stone, may they be still at the greatness of Your arm, and may terror and fear fall upon them.)   5. Shemot 11:7 וּלְכֹל בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל לֹא יֶחֱרַץ כֶּלֶב לְשֹׁנוֹ לְמֵאִישׁ וְעַד בְּהֵמָה לְמַעַן תֵּדְעוּן אֲשֶׁר יַפְלֶה יְיָ בֵּין מִצְרַיִם וּבֵין יִשְׂרָאֵל: - “U-lechol bnei Yisrael lo yecheratz kelev leshono le-me'ish ve-ad behemah, lema'an ted'un asher yafleh Adonai bein Mitzrayim u-vein Yisrael.” (But among all the Children of Israel, not even a dog will move its tongue against man or beast, so that you may know how the L-rd distinguishes between Egypt and Israel.)   6. (When you pass through water, I will be with you; and through rivers, they will not sweep you away. When you walk through fire, you will not be burned, and flame will not consume you.)   7. Zot nachalat avdei Adonai ve-tzidkatam me-Iti, neum Adonai.” (Any weapon formed against you will not prosper, and you will condemn every tongue that rises against you in judgment. This is the heritage of the servants of the L-rd, and their righteousness is from Me—the word of the L-rd.)   8. Tehillim 6:9 סוּרוּ מִמֶּנִּי כָּל פֹּעֲלֵי אָוֶן כִּי שָׁמַע יְיָ קוֹל בִּכְיִי: - “Suru mimeni kol po'alei aven, ki shama Adonai kol bich'i.” (Depart from me, all you who practice iniquity, for the L-rd has heard the sound of my weeping.)   9. (The L-rd has heard my supplication; the L-rd will accept my prayer.)   10. Tehillim 6:11 יֵבֹשׁוּ וְיִבָּהֲלוּ מְאֹד כָּל אֹיְבָי יָשֻׁבוּ יֵבֹשׁוּ רָגַע:  - “Yevoshu ve-yibahalu me'od kol oyvai; yashuvu yevoshu raga.” (All my enemies will be utterly ashamed and dismayed; they will retreat and be instantly ashamed.)   11. Ke-hindof ashan tindof; ke-himes donag mipnei esh, yovedu resha'im mipnei Elohim.” (G-d will arise, His enemies will be scattered, and those who hate Him will flee before Him. As smoke is driven away, so may You drive them away; as wax melts before fire, so may the wicked perish before G-d.)   12. Tehillim 90:17 וִיהִי נֹעַם אֲדֹנָי אֱלוֹהֵינוּ עָלֵינוּ וּמַעֲשֵׂה יָדֵינוּ כּוֹנְנָה עָלֵינוּ וּמַעֲשֵׂה יָדֵינוּ כּוֹנְנֵהוּ: - “Vihi no'am Adonai Eloheinu aleinu, u-ma'aseh yadeinu konenah aleinu, u-ma'aseh yadeinu konenehu.” (May the pleasantness of the L-rd, our G-d, be upon us; establish for us the work of our hands—yes, establish the work of our hands.)     (Based on a lesson by Rav Alexander Tzvi Sypkov, “Segulot According to the Weekly Torah Portions”)
