The Yahrzeits of Tzadikim in the Month of Iyar and Their Segulot
1 Iyar -
Segulah from
Tazria–
Metzora
A segulah for meriting to raise one's children properly is to do this on the 41st day after the birth of a son or the 81st day after the birth of a daughter (Segulot Yisrael, Derech Pekudecha, Tevuot Shor), or on the 40th and 80th days (Keter Nehora – the Berdichever Siddur, p. 31). The woman or her husband should read the first eight pesukim of Parashat Tazria (Chapter 12:1–8).
According to Keter Neora – the Berdichever Siddur – this should be recited only if the woman has already gone to the mikveh after childbirth; otherwise, she should recite it only after immersing in the mikveh.
After this, the following prayer should be recited:
“Ribono shel Olam, yehi ratzon milfanecha Adonai Eloheinu ve-Elohei avoteinu, shetehei amirah zu chashuvah u-mekubalah lefanecha ke'ilu hikravti korban yoledet.”
