Tehillim 19 and the Six Orders of the Mishnah
Chazal teach that the six lines of Tehillim 19 allude to the Six Orders of the Mishnah:
8) "Torat Ad-nai temimah meshivat nafesh" – (The Torah of the L-rd is perfect, restoring the soul).
Here, the words "The Torah of the L-rd is perfect" point to the order of Nashim, for the verse (Shir HaShirim 4:7) says: "You are altogether beautiful, my beloved, and there is no blemish in you."
8) "Edut Ad-nai ne'emanah machkimat peti" – (The testimony of the L-rd is trustworthy).
Here, the words "The testimony of the L-rd is trustworthy" point to the order of Zeraim, for a person places his trust in the L-rd, the Eternal G-d, and sows his seeds.
9) "Pikudei Ad-nai yesharim mesamchei lev" – (The precepts of the L-rd are upright, gladdening the heart).
Here, the words "The precepts of the L-rd are upright, gladdening the heart" point to the order of Moed, which contains the laws of the sukkah, lulav and all the festivals of the year, about which it is said: "You shall rejoice on your festival." (Devarim 16:14)
9) "Mitzvat Ad-nai barah me'irat einayim" – (The commandment of the L-rd is pure, enlightening the eyes).
Here, the words "The commandment of the L-rd is pure, enlightening the eyes" point to the order of Kodashim, which enlightens the eyes of the sages.
10) "Yirat Ad-nai tehorah" – (Fear of the L-rd is pure).
Here, the words "Fear of the L-rd is pure" point to the order of Taharot, which distinguishes between the impure and the pure.
10) "Mishpetei Ad-nai emet" – (The laws of the L-rd are true).
Here, the words "The laws of the L-rd are true" point to the order of Nezikin, which contains all the laws governing monetary matters.
