1. Recite the Prayer of Yehudah HaChassid three times
These verses form an acrostic of the word “avi” (my father).
אתה סתר לי מצר תצרני רני פלט תסובבני סלה, סלה תסובבני פלט רני תצרני מצר לי סתר אתה.
ביטחו בה' עדי עד כי ביה ה' צור עולמים, עולמים צור ה' ביה כי עד עדי בה' ביטחו.
ה' עוז לעמו יתן ה' יברך את עמו בשלום, בשלום עמו את יברך ה' יתן לעמו עוז ה'.
“Atah seter li, mi-tzar titzreni – roni felet tesoveveni selah.
Selah tesoveveni felet roni titzreni mi-tzar li seter Atah.
Bitchu va-Ad-nai adei ad, ki ve-Yah Ad-nai tzur olamim.
Olamim tzur Ad-nai be-Yah ki ad adei va-Ad-nai bitchu.
Ad-nai oz le-amo yiten, Ad-nai yevarech et amo ve-shalom.
Ve-shalom amo et yevarech Ad-nai yiten le-amo oz Ad-nai.”
Translation:
You are my shelter, my protection from trouble. Surround me with the joy of deliverance, selah!
Place your trust in G-d forever, for in G-d, the L-rd, there is an everlasting Rock.
The L-rd will give strength to His people; the L-rd will bless His people with peace.”
2. Verses that provide deliverance from every trouble
יְהִי כְבוד ה' לְעולָם. יִשְׂמַח ה' בְּמַעֲשָׂיו:
יְהִי שֵׁם ה' מְברָךְ. מֵעַתָּה וְעַד עולָם:
הַמַּבִּיט לָאָרֶץ וַתִּרְעָד יִגַּע בֶּהָרִים וְיֶעֱשָׁנוּ
רוּמָה עַל הַשָּׁמַיִם אֱלֹהִים עַל כָּל הָאָרֶץ כְּבוֹדֶך
“Yehi kevod Ad-nai le-olam, yismach Ad-nai be-ma'asav.
Yehi shem Ad-nai mevorach me-atah ve-ad olam.”
(“May the glory of the L-rd be forever! The L-rd rejoices in His works. May the name of the L-rd be blessed from now and forever.”)
“Ha-mabit la-aretz va-tir'ad, yiga be-harim va-ye'ashenu.”
(“He looks at the earth, and it trembles; He touches the mountains, and they smoke.”)
“Rumah al ha-shamayim Elohim, al kol ha-aretz kevodecha.”
(“Be exalted above the heavens, O G-d; Your glory is over all the earth.”)
Tehillim 130
שִׁיר הַמַּעֲלוֹת מִמַּעֲמַקִּים קְרָאתִיךָ ה':
אֲדֹנָי שִׁמְעָה בְקוֹלִי תִּהְיֶינָה אָזְנֶיךָ קַשֻּׁבוֹת לְקוֹל תַּחֲנוּנָי:
אִם־עֲוֺנוֹת תִּשְׁמָר־יָהּ אֲדֹנָי מִי יַעֲמֹד:
כִּי־עִמְּךָ הַסְּלִיחָה לְמַעַן תִּוָּרֵא:
קִוִּיתִי ה' קִוְּתָה נַפְשִׁי וְלִדְבָרוֹ הוֹחָלְתִּי:
נַפְשִׁי לַאדֹנָי מִשֹּׁמְרִים לַבֹּקֶר שֹׁמְרִים לַבֹּקֶר:
יַחֵל יִשְׂרָאֵל אֶל־ה' כִּי־עִם־ה' הַחֶסֶד וְהַרְבֵּה עִמּוֹ פְדוּת:
וְהוּא יִפְדֶּה אֶת־יִשְׂרָאֵל מִכֹּל עֲוֺנֹתָיו:
1. Shir HaMa'alot, mi-ma'amakim keraticha Ad-nai.
2. Ad-nai, shime'a ve-koli; tihyena oznecha קשובות le-kol tachanunai.
3. Im avonot tishmor Yah, Ad-nai, mi ya'amod.
4. Ki imcha ha-selichah, lema'an tivare.
5. Kiviti Ad-nai, kivtah nafshi, ve-lidvaro hochalti.
6. Nafshi la-Ad-nai, mi-shomrim la-voker, shomrim la-voker.
7. Yachel Yisrael el Ad-nai, ki im Ad-nai ha-chesed, ve-harbeh imo fedut.
8. Ve-hu yifdeh et Yisrael mi-kol avonotav.
Translation
1. A Song of Ascents. From the depths I have called You, O L-rd.
2. My Master, hear my voice! May Your ears be attentive to the voice of my supplications!
3. If You were to preserve all sins, O L-rd, my Master—who could stand?
4. For forgiveness is with You, so that You may be revered.
5. I hoped, O L-rd; my soul hoped, and I placed my trust in His word.
6. My soul waits for my Master more than watchmen wait for the morning—more than watchmen wait for the morning.
7. Place your hope in the L-rd, O Israel, for kindness is with the L-rd, and abundant redemption is with Him.
8. And He will redeem Israel from all its sins.
Prayer
יהי רצון מלפניך ה' אלוהינו ואלוהי אבותינו שתעשה למען רחמיך ובזכות פסוקים אלו ושמות הקודש אשר בהם ושמות הקודש הרמוזים והמצורפים בהם שתרחם עלינו ותצילנו מכל צרה ותרצי ברחמיך הרבים אמן נצח סלע ועד
“Yehi ratzon milfanecha Ad-nai Eloheinu ve-Elohei avoteinu, she-ta'aseh lema'an rachamecha, u-vizchut pesukim elu u-shemot ha-kodesh asher bahem, u-shemot ha-kodesh ha-remuzim ve-ha-metzurafim bahem, she-terachem aleinu ve-tatzilenu mi-kol tzarah ve-tirtzenu be-rachamecha ha-rabim, amen, netzach selah va-ed.”
Translation
May it be Your will, O L-rd, our G-d and the G-d of our fathers, that You act for the sake of Your mercy and in the merit of these verses, with the Holy Names written within them and the Holy Names alluded to and formed by them. Have mercy upon us and save us from every trouble, and find favor in us through Your abundant mercy. Amen, forever!
