I ask You, may You be blessed, to have mercy upon me because of the worries in my heart, which cause me distress and concern about what will happen to me physically and spiritually, and what my future will be. Indeed, I am ashamed and embarrassed to ask You, may You be blessed, about this, for if I had faith and trust, I would never be worried. Yet it is revealed and known before You that, because of my many sins and transgressions, my heart has become dulled and hardened; I have distanced myself from You, and my heart has turned away from the absolute truth. I feel in my heart that the light of Your countenance is not with me, and I worry that You may distance Yourself from me. See my poverty and my suffering, and forgive all my sins. When I reflect, I see how far I am from peace of mind and joy, from faith and trust, and how close I am to sorrow and sighing, worry and anxiety. I worry without cause, and my heart is frightened and confused, because the verse has been fulfilled upon me: ‘The L-rd will strike you with madness.’ There is no one who can understand me except You alone, may You be blessed, Who rules over the heart, the strength, and the entire body, and over all the worlds. Only You can say in an instant, ‘Enough,’ to my spiritual and physical troubles, raise me onto the path of absolute truth—the path of light, in which everything shines—and cause sorrow and sighing to flee. Only You, may You be blessed, can strengthen my heart so that I will neither worry nor fear, settle my mind so that it will not be frightened and confused, remove anxiety and worry from me, and plant in my heart the hope that I will surely have a good future.” “Rachum ve-Chanun, the world is very dark, and it does not shine. How can I ask for Your help, when You are absolute truth and I am in terrible falsehood and have distanced myself from You? Yet I know that only You, may You be blessed, can renew me, cleanse away all the filth of my iniquities and sins, and say to me: ‘You are My son; today I have begotten you,’ so that I may stand before You like King Saul in the first year of his reign, when he had not sinned, and the words ‘Ask of Me, and I will give’ may be fulfilled in me.” (Compassionate and Gracious One, although I am unworthy, please deal with me through Your mercy as though I were worthy and upright, through joy and kindness, and not through suffering and pain. I rely solely upon prayer, and I turn to You from within falsehood and darkness, asking that these words become a delight before You. May this prayer find favor in Your eyes; may You answer it, “Amen,” and accept it with complete mercy and kindness, entirely free of judgment.) “Rachum ve-Chanun, in our generation sins and transgressions have multiplied—illnesses, disasters, financial hardship, delays in finding a spouse, and every kind of trouble and suffering. I do not wish to taste any of them, G-d forbid—not me, not my household, not those who accompany me, and not Your people Israel. Please remove the curse from me and place goodness and blessing upon me, so that from now and forever all the blessings written in the Book of the Torah will be fulfilled upon me: ‘May the L-rd bless you and protect you. May the L-rd shine His countenance upon you and be gracious to you. May the L-rd lift His countenance toward you and grant you peace.’” (Compassionate and Gracious One, in this generation sins and transgressions have multiplied, as have illnesses, disasters, financial hardship, delays in marriage, and every kind of trouble and suffering. I do not wish to experience any of them, G-d forbid—not I, nor my family, nor those associated with me, nor Your people Israel. Please remove the curse from me and place goodness and blessing upon me, so that from now and forever all the blessings written in the Book of the Torah will be fulfilled upon me: “May the L-rd bless you and protect you. May the L-rd shine His countenance upon you and be gracious to you. Throughout all generations, in all our troubles, we have called out and cried to You, and we have seen Your miracles and Your power. Please: ‘Accept our supplication and hear our cry, Knower of hidden things.’” (Please, Compassionate One, I turn to You, for You are our Father and our King. Will I know that I have brought You, my G-d, spiritual satisfaction? May it be Your will that I merit finding favor in Your eyes, pleasing You, and prevailing before You, and that You, may You be blessed, derive spiritual satisfaction. May the Redemption come. Amen.” (Compassionate and Gracious One, there is still one worry in my heart unlike all my other worries: Will the complete Redemption come in my days, will I see the rebuilt Third Temple, and will I know that I have brought You pleasure, my G-d? May it be Your will that I merit finding favor in Your eyes, pleasing You and prevailing before You forever, and that You, may You be blessed, have spiritual satisfaction. May the Redemption come. Amen.) “Ana, Rachaman, please fulfill my request, for You, may You be blessed, have said: ‘Choose life.’ Only You, may You be blessed, can help me choose true and eternal life, and heal my deeply troubled soul. I rely and trust in the power of this prayer and these words, and already now I feel my faith and trust growing, and I feel how You, may You be blessed, are removing worry from my heart.” (Please, Compassionate One, have mercy and pity upon me, and hasten to fulfill my request for goodness and blessing, gladness and joy.) Amen, Netzach, Selah va-ed. “Ana chus na va-chamol alai, u-maher bakashati le-tovah ve-livrachah, le-sasson u-le-simchah. Amen. Netzach. Selah. Va-ed.” Please have mercy; please show compassion toward me. Hasten to fulfill my request for goodness and blessing, gladness and joy. Amen. Netzach. Selah. Va-ed.
