Zohar on Tehillim

"Nivzeh b'einav nim'as v'et yirei ...." – 
(despised and rejected in his own eyes, yet he honors those who fear G-d). The Zohar explains that this psalm corresponds to the Ten Commandments. This particular verse corresponds to the commandment: do not murder. If a person holds a humble position, the likelihood that he might harm or kill someone is small. But if he occupies the throne of a king, serves as a minister, or holds some other position of power — there is no certainty that he will not misuse that power to cause death, for in such a person the yetzer hara operates in an entirely different way. Therefore, only one who humbles himself regardless of his station — as King David did — can truly say of himself that he is not a murderer. King Shlomo said: "Tov nikhleh — yetzer hatov" — in a person who humbles himself, the yetzer hatov prevails, the yetzer hara becomes his servant, and all harsh judgments are annulled.
