“Tomer Devorah” – a segula for cancer
Studying the book Tomer Devorah by the Ramak (Rabbi Moshe Cordovero), of blessed memory, is a segula for cancer.
The Rebbe of Tzanz, the Divrei Chaim, זצ"ל, taught his chassidim (as heard by his grandson, Rav Moshe Halberstam, from the Satmar Rebbe):
“Studying Tomer Devorah is a segula for many ailments and can help cure the most serious of all known diseases.”
It is recommended to study Sefer Tomer Devorah once a week, or at least once a month, although this book is not easy to understand.
This segula works according to the principle of midah keneged midah (measure for measure). Tomer Devorah provides a detailed analysis of the Thirteen Divine Attributes of Mercy mentioned by the prophet Micah (7:18–20).
If a person emulates the Creator’s attributes and treats others as He does—with patience, compassion, forgiveness, and so forth—then HaShem will likewise treat people in accordance with midah keneged midah, and will be Patient, Compassionate, and Forgiving.
By studying Tomer Devorah, a person is cleansed of the spiritual causes of this serious illness.
