Tehillim 4 according to Rabbeinu Chida for Ayelet HaShachar
Rabbeinu Chida, in «Yosef Beseder» (12), writes that he found the following segula in an ancient manuscript: A person who wishes to succeed in business, wherever he may go, should recite the 4th Mizmor of Tehillim three times before sunrise—at Ayelet HaShachar, together with Rabbeinu Chida’s prayer—and he will see success in his endeavors and good Parnassah.
There are two ways to recite this psalm at Ayelet HaShachar.
1. Recite it three times at Ayelet HaShachar—for success in business and good fortune in earning a livelihood that same day (if meetings or negotiations are scheduled).
Prayer after reciting it three times at Ayelet HaShachar:
«Yehi ratzon milfanecha, Ado-nai Eloheinu ve-Elohei avoteinu, she-tatzliach darki ve-teyasher orchotai, ve-temale mishalot libi le-tovah ve-ta'ase cheftzi ba-yom hazeh. Amen amen amen, sela sela sela!»
Translation
May it be Your will, O L-rd, our G-d and the G-d of our fathers, that my way be successful and my paths be made straight. Fulfill my wishes for my benefit, and grant my desire today. Amen, amen, amen, sela, sela, sela!
2. Recite it seven times at Ayelet HaShachar to obtain what you desire from other people (authorities, employees, or family members) and to win someone over. First say:
«Ani omer le-shem ploni ben ploni»—(I am reciting this psalm on behalf of [state the person’s name]).
Prayer after reciting it seven times
«Yehi ratzon milfanecha, Ado-nai Eloheinu ve-Elohei avoteinu, she-titenenu le-chen, ule-chesed, ule-rachamim be-einecha u-ve-einei (the person’s name), she-ya'ase cheftzi ve-retzoni va-imale she'elati ba-yom zeh, she-hu yom (the day of the week and state the request), ve-Atah El rachum ve-chanun hateh et libo lechol asher eshal mimenu, ki lev melech be-yad Ha-Shem ve-chol asher yachpotz, yiten. Amen, ken yehi ratzon!»
Translation
May it be Your will, O L-rd, our G-d and the G-d of our fathers, to grant us favor, kindness, and mercy in Your eyes and in the eyes of (the person’s name), so that he will fulfill my desire and my request today, on (the day of the week), (state the request). And You, merciful and compassionate L-rd, incline his heart to fulfill everything I ask of him, for the heart of a king is in the hand of the L-rd, and whatever He desires, He grants. Amen, may it be so!
