Segula of the Yanuka Gaon for Refuah Shleimah
The Yanuka Gaon—Rabbi Shlomo Yehuda Be'eri—offers a tried-and-tested segula for Refuah Shleimah.
You will need to take a clean, unlined sheet of paper and write on it the name of the person who needs healing, together with his or her mother's name and a request for healing, for example:
דוד בן שרה רפואה שלמה לנפש וגוף
Then fill a clean, transparent candleholder halfway with water and halfway with pure olive oil, insert a wick, and place the candleholder on the sheet so that all the letters are beneath the glass and are visible and reflected in the oil.
Light this candle
Lik’hvod Rabbi Yoel bar Shmuel Yafeh Sirkis—the Bach (alav hashalom, zechuto yagen aleinu), and ask in the merit of the tzadik for a complete recovery for the person whose name is written on the sheet.
The candle should be lit in this manner for three consecutive days.
It is also good to give tzedakah
likhvod the tzadik. (For health, it is customary to give tzedakah equivalent to 18—“chai”—in any currency.)
