The Mekubalim prescribe a powerful segula for Ta'anit Esther: reciting Tehillim 22 twenty-six times.
Before Ayelet HaShachar, light two candles lekhvod Mordechai and Esther (some maintain that weekly candles should be lit); 24-hour or oil candles may be used.

Prepare 26 coins (shekels/agorot), corresponding to the gematria of the Name of the Almighty, and during the day, from Ayelet HaShachar until shkia, recite Tehillim 22 twenty-six times. After each recitation, set aside one coin. At the end, after the twenty-sixth and final recitation, ask Hashem, in the merit of Esther ha-Malkah and Mordechai ha-Yehudi, for yeshuot (personal salvation) and for the entire people of Israel!
