Prayer for Finding a Lost Item in the Merit of Rabbi Meir Baal HaNes
Prayer for Finding a Lost Item in the Merit of Rabbi Meir Baal HaNes
תפילה למציאת אבידה
Give tzedakah and say three times:
אמר רבי בנימין, הכל בחזקת סומין, עד שהקדוש ברוך הוא מאיר את עיניהם. מן הכא, ויפקח אלוקים את עיניה ותרא באר מים, ותלך ותמלא את החמת.
אלהא דמאיר ענני, אלהא דמאיר ענני, אלהא דמאיר ענני. בזכות הצדקה שאני נודב לעילוי נשמת רבי מאיר בעל הנס, זכותו יגן עלינו, למצוא את האבידה שאיבדתי
[Give tzedakah l'kavod Rabbi Meir Baal HaNes and recite three times]:
“Amar Rabbi Binyamin, hakol be-chezkas sumin ad she-haKadosh Barukh Hu me'ir et eineihem.
Min hacha, vayifkach Elokim et eineha, va-telekh va-temale et ha-chemet.
Eloha de-Meir aneini, Eloha de-Meir aneini, Eloha de-Meir aneini!
Be-zchut ha-tzedakah she-ani noder le'ilui nishmat Rabbi Meir Baal HaNes,
zechuto yagen aleinu, limtzo et ha-aveidah she-avadti.”
Translation
“Rabbi Binyamin said: ‘Everyone is considered blind until the Holy One, blessed be He, opens their eyes.
We learn from here: ‘And G-d opened her eyes... and she went and filled her waterskin.’
G-d of Meir, answer me! G-d of Meir, answer me! G-d of Meir, answer me!
By virtue of the tzedakah that I give in memory of the soul of Rabbi Meir the Miracle-Worker,
may his merit protect us and help me find what I have lost.’”
(from the book Tehillim—Segulot, published by Shorashim, Beit Malkiel)
