Petitions at the Conclusion of Rosh Hashanah
(Sefer “Lashon Chachamim” (The Language of the Sages) [Part 1, siman 15] by the Ben Ish Chai)
The Ben Ish Chai teaches in his book “Lashon Chachamim” that it is good to recite the following order of prayers at the conclusion of Rosh Hashanah, as this is a good sign for the entire year, since the 3rd of Tishrei marks the beginning of the year’s days of activity (workdays).
[Recite 12 times]
וַיִּזְרַע יִצְחָק בָּאָרֶץ הַהִוא וַיִּמְצָא בַּשָּׁנָה הַהִוא מֵאָה שְׁעָרִים וַיְבָרֲכֵהוּ יְהוָה
– “Va-yizra Yitzchak ba-aretz ha-hi va-yimtza ba-shanah ha-hi me’ah she’arim va-yevarechehu Ado-nai” -
(And Isaac sowed in that land, and found in that year a hundredfold; and the L-rd blessed him.)
[Recite 10 times]
כִּֽי־עִ֭מְּךָ מְק֣וֹר חַיִּ֑ים בְּ֝אוֹרְךָ֗ נִרְאֶה־אֽוֹר׃
- “Ki imcha mekor chayim, be’orecha nir’eh or” -(For with You is the source of life; in Your light
we see light.)
Prayer-Blessing: “Va-yiten lecha Ha-Elohim mi-tal ha-shamayim”

From the G-d of your father, may He help you, and may Shaddai bless you: with blessings of heaven above, blessings of the deep below, blessings of the breasts and the womb. The blessings of your father surpassed the blessings of my parents, to the utmost bounds of the everlasting hills. May they rest upon the head of Joseph, upon the crown of the one distinguished among his brothers.

You will be blessed above all peoples; there will be no infertile male or female among you or your livestock. The L-rd will remove all illness from you, and He will not inflict upon you any of the terrible diseases of Egypt that you know; rather, He will bring them upon all your enemies.

And you shall say on that day: Give thanks to the L-rd, call upon His Name, make His deeds known among the nations, remind them that His Name is exalted. Sing praises to the L-rd, for He has done great things; let this be known throughout the earth. Rejoice and sing, O inhabitant of Zion, for great in your midst is the Holy One of Israel.

The spirit clothed Amasai, chief of the officers: “We are yours, David, and with you, son of Yishai. Peace, peace to you, and peace to your helper, for your G-d helps you.” David accepted them and appointed them over the heads of the regiment.
[Recite 10 times]
וַאֲמַרְתֶּם כֹּה לֶחָי וְאַתָּה שָׁלוֹם וּבֵיתְךָ שָׁלוֹם וְכֹל אֲשֶׁר לְךָ שָׁלוֹ

And say: May it be so throughout life! Peace be with you, peace be with your household, and peace be with all that is yours.
Personal PrayerOur G-d and G-d of our fathers, may the days of this coming year begin for us with a good sign and good mazal, bringing us a good life and peace.
May we all be blessed, good, and cleansed of every sin, transgression, and iniquity; may we be devoted to the study of Torah for Your sake and to good deeds. May You inform us with joy and gladness; may no one’s heart be filled with envy toward us, and may our hearts not be filled with envy toward others.
Our King and our G-d! Grant us blessing, prosperity, and success in all the work of our hands. May all the good counsel of those advising us and the entire people of Israel, and all good thoughts, be accepted, blessed, increased, and fulfilled, and may these counsels be carried out, as it is said:
May He grant you your heart’s desire, and fulfill all your plans.
And it is said: Whatever you decide will be accomplished for you, and light will shine upon your ways.
And may all the evil counsels of those advising us and the entire people of Israel, and all those harboring evil thoughts, disappear, be nullified, cut off, and crumble to dust, as it is said:
The L-rd frustrates the plans of nations and brings to naught the designs of peoples.
And it is said: Make a plan, and it shall be foiled; state a proposal, and it shall not stand, for G-d is with us! May the L-rd our G-d open for us this month, and every month, every week, every day, and every hour throughout this year, gates of light, gates of love, gates of blessing, gates of joy, gates of gladness, gates of knowledge, gates of glory and splendor, gates of a good eternity, gates of song, gates of grace and compassion, gates of a good life, gates of goodness, gates of salvation, gates of redemption and prosperity, gates of Torah study, gates of sustenance, gates of forgiveness, gates of help, gates of healing, gates of peace and tranquility, and gates of deliverance.
And it is said: May these words of mine, with which I have prayed before the L-rd, be near the L-rd our G-d day and night, so that He may do what is right for His servant and what is right for His people Israel, each day.
