Cheshvan is my month, and all the tzadikim who passed away in Cheshvan are especially dear to me: Rachel Imeinu, Binyamin ben Yaakov, Rabbi Yisrael of Ruzhin, Rabbi Tzvi Hirsh of Rimanov, Rav Ovadia Yosef, the Chazon Ish, Matityahu Kohen HaGadol, the Admor of Piaseczno, Rabbi Mordechai Sharabi, Rabbi Refael Baruch ben Yaakov Toledano, and others.
24 Cheshvan is the yahrzeit of one of the great Rebbes, the son of the well-known Admor of Zvhil — Rebbe Shloimke (Shlomo) (not to be confused when visiting the graves).
Rabbi Gedalya Moshe was one of the hidden tzadikim of his generation; he was the son of the renowned tzadik and miracle-worker Rabbi Shloimke of Zvhil.
During his father's lifetime he served as a rabbi and headed the local yeshiva. During their breaks, the students would amuse themselves with a game called "the needle" – they would open a volume of the Talmud and mark a letter on one of the pages with a needle. Rabbi Gedalya Moshe could, from memory and without looking, name the letters located directly beneath that letter on every page until the end of the tractate.
In 1948, as a result of the war, Jerusalem was cut off from the traditional cemetery on the Mount of Olives. As a temporary measure, until a new permanent location could be found, it was decided to bury the dead in a tiny plot called "Sheikh Bader." It was there, rather than beside his father, that Rabbi Gedalya Moshe was buried.
Unlike the grave of Rabbi Shloimke, which is well known throughout the Jewish world, his son's resting place remained obscure for many years. Only a handful of people, family members, knew of it.
After several instances in which people merited miraculous salvation through prayer at this grave, this tiny cemetery in the center of the city near "Gan Sacher" became very popular.
Jews in difficult situations come to the grave of the Rabbi of Zvhil, pray, recite Tehillim, and their prayers are answered.
How the Popularity Began
Several years ago he appeared in a dream to one of his descendants in London and said that he would intercede in Heaven for everyone who visited his grave three consecutive days on specific days: Monday – Thursday – Monday. And indeed, everyone who visited the Rebbe's grave merited miracles and answers to their prayers.
Starting from 23 Cheshvan, the police already prepare for an endless stream of pilgrims to the grave of the Rebbe of Zvhil — those who have heard of the miracles that followed visits to his grave, and those returning to thank the Rebbe. People come back and bring notes to his grave describing the miracle that occurred.
Several years ago I saw an enormous billboard in Jerusalem with a photo of the Rebbe of Zvhil, and later, on Lag BaOmer, the same photo, but this time in Meron. I became curious about who this tzadik was, and after reading many astonishing things about him and learning from an American website that, according to statistics, his grave ranks third in visitor numbers in Israel, after Meron and the Tomb of Rachel — I became eager to visit his resting place.
And, with G-d's help, in the month of June, the Yeshiva "Yodei Binah" organized such a trip at my request.
So, one must visit the grave of the tzadik, the Rebbe of Zvhil, three times in a row: שני — חמישי – שני (Monday-Thursday-Monday).
And for each visit, the Rebbe of Zvhil advised reciting the chapters of Tehillim listed below.
On the third visit, promise that if your prayer is answered, you will return to tell of the miracle – at the grave you will see a huge board covered with a thousand notes of gratitude.
