Nechemia HaAmsoni
Tanna
Rabbi Nechemia HaAmsoni (רבי נחמיה העמסוני) - is considered a disciple of Rabbi Akiva...
Rabbi Chaim Vital wrote:
"To the west of Tzfat... there is a cave in Parod, and it is said that Nachum Ish Gamzu is buried there, but this is not so (he is buried in Tzfat) - rather it is Rabbi Nechemia HaAmsoni who is buried in Parod (Shaar HaGilgulim, 37).
The sages said that Rabbi Nechemia HaAmsoni used to interpret every instance of the word "et" in the Torah. (Pesachim 22:2)
And "et" means "including." That is, he kept expanding the Torah and the mitzvot each day more than the previous one.
"But when he reached the verse: "Et Ado-nai Elokecha tira..." - ("you shall fear the L-rd your G-d") - he stopped, meaning he could not expand it further, having reached a point where he could add no more.
"Until Rabbi Akiva came and explained: "et" means - including the disciples of the Sage [i.e., the sages]. That is, as mentioned above, through connecting with the sages one can attain a certain support.
May the merit of the tzadik protect Am Yisrael!
