Rabbi Yitzchak Abuhatzira HaRishon
Rabbi Yitzchak Abuhatzira HaRishon (1860-1912)
Yahrzeit - 14 Shevat
Burial place - Rissani, Morocco
He was born in 1860 in Meknes, Morocco, to the great Abir Yaakov - Rabbi Yaakov Abuhatzira, and was named Yitzchak, le-chvod (in honor of) the Arizal.
His nickname was Damana Tulal. He was the brother of Masoud Abuhatzira - the father of Baba Sali.
His students were Baba Sali and David Abuhatzira (Baba Sali's older brother).
Rabbi Yitzchak Abuhatzira (not to be confused with Baba Haki - Rabbi Yitzchak Abuhatzira, Baba Sali's other brother) wrote many piyutim: "Alef HaMagen," "Lev Tahor," "Shabbat HaGadol," "Shaarei Bina," "Ufa Ashakana," and others.
After several years of study in yeshiva, he began to seclude himself in his room and study in solitude. Already at the age of 16 he wrote the introduction to his father's books, and at 23 he began teaching students and writing his own books. Although he held no official position in the yeshiva, he held an important place among the Jews of Tafilalet, and was sent several times to raise funds for the yeshiva.
Once he traveled to Israel and stayed there for a certain period, but eventually returned to Morocco (in 1877). In Israel he married the daughter of Rabbi Moshe ben Naim, and divorced her upon his return to Morocco.
He was known as righteous and holy, and as one who possessed Ruach HaKodesh.
In the winter of 1912, he set out on another fundraising campaign for the yeshiva, during which, on Friday the 14th of Shevat, he was shot by bandits near the city of Tulal.
He was buried in Tulal that same day, shortly before the onset of Shabbat. His grave in Tulal has been well preserved and is a place of pilgrimage.
Many have merited open miracles at his resting place.
May the merit of the tzadik protect the people of Israel!
P.S. On the tour of the graves of the tzadikim in Morocco, Rabbi Yitzchak's grave was first on the list, but local guides advised against going there outside of the tzadik's yahrzeit (the grave is located deep in the desert, and on the yahrzeit many Jews come from all over the world), and when it is not so dangerous for a group to be there.
Segula for the Yahrzeit of Rabbi Yitzchak Abuhatzira
14 Shevat is a powerful segula for purchasing an apartment/home or for quickly paying off a mortgage or other debts that a person has incurred in connection with purchasing an apartment.
It was transmitted by the son of Rabbi Yitzchak Abuhatzira - Rav Yaakov (the younger) Abuhatzira.
One should fill a bottle with water - it can be from the tap, or from a running spring. And while filling the bottle with water, say:
יהי רצון מלפניך ה' אלהינו ואלהי אותינו שבזכות אמונת צדיקים ובזכות רבי יצחק אבוחצירא נזכה לכל טוב עם יראת שמים
"Yehi ratzon milfanecha, Ado-nai Elo-heinu ve-Elo-hei avoteinu, she-bi-zchut emunat tzadikim u-vi-zchut Rabbi Yitzchak Abuhatzira nizkeh le-chol tov im yirat Shamayim."
(May it be Your will, our G-d and G-d of our fathers, that in the merit of the faith of the tzadikim and in the merit of Rabbi Yitzchak Abuhatzira, we merit all that is good together with fear of Heaven).
יהי רצון מלפניך ה' אלהינו ואלהי אותינו שזכות אמונת הצדיק רבי יצחק אבוחצירא זצ'ל וזיע'א תגן עלינו ועל כל עמו ישראל אכי'ר
"Yehi ratzon milfanecha, Ado-nai Elo-heinu ve-Elo-hei avoteinu, she-zchut emunat ha-Tzadik Rabbi Yitzchak Abuhatzira, zichrono tzadik li-vracha, u-zchuto yagen aleinu, amen, tagen aleinu ve-al kol amo Yisrael. Amen, ken yehi ratzon."
(May it be Your will, our G-d and G-d of our fathers, that in the merit of the faith of the tzadikim and in the merit of Rabbi Yitzchak Abuhatzira, may his memory be a blessing, may his merit and that of the entire people of Israel protect us. Amen, may it be Your will).
After that, this water is drunk little by little over the course of the day or several days.
It is best to perform this segula on the yahrzeit of Rabbi Yitzchak Abuhatzira - 14 Shevat.
On this day the segula will have greater power.
