They were executed in Pumbedita in 470 CE.

The Iggeret (letter) of Rav Sherira Gaon records that Huna bar (son of) Mar Zutra and Mesharshiya bar Pakod were executed on the 18th of Tevet, 470 CE.

Rabbi Mesharshiya bar Brei (grandson) of Rabbi Acha bar Rav may be the Mesharshiya referred to by Rabbi Sherira Gaon.
