Works
Rabbi Teomim, one of the outstanding rabbis of his time, studied rabbinic literature thoroughly and became disillusioned with secular studies. He wrote:
Pri Megadim (פרי מגדים), a super-commentary on some of the primary commentators on the Shulchan Aruch: in the Orach Chaim section he wrote Mishbetzot Zahav, containing a super-commentary on the Turei Zahav of David ben Samuel, and Eshel Avraham on the Magen Avraham of Avraham Gombiner (Frankfurt an der Oder, 1753).
In the Yoreh De'ah section he wrote Siftei Da'at, on the Siftei Kohen of Shabbetai Kohen (Shach; Berlin, 1772), and also continued Mishbetzot Zahav.
Rabbi Teomim left in manuscript the "Sefer HaMaggid" (a commentary on the Torah and Haftarot, sermons for Shabbat and the festivals, and a double commentary on Pirkei Avot) and Em LaBinah (a Hebrew-Aramaic dictionary).
He is buried in the Jewish cemetery in Frankfurt an der Oder.
May the merit of the Tzadik protect Am Yisrael!
