Tehillim 4 According to Shimush Tehillim for Ayelet HaShachar
Tehillim 4 According to Shimush Tehillim for Ayelet HaShachar
Tehillim 4 promotes success in Parnasa (livelihood) and success in one's affairs.
But Shimush Tehillim teaches that it is even more powerful to read this psalm a certain number of times at Ayelet HaShachar (dawn):
1. Reading Psalm 4 three times at Ayelet HaShachar - for success in one's affairs and success in Parnasa that same day.
Prayer after reading Psalm 4
Yehi ratzon milefanecha, Ado-nai Elo-heinu ve-Elo-hei avoteinu shetatzliach darki ve-teyasher orchotai, ve-temale mishalot libi le-tova ve-taase cheftzi ba-yom hazeh. Amen amen amen, sela sela sela!
Translation
May it be Your will, L-rd our G-d and G-d of our forefathers, that my path be successful and my ways be straight. And fulfill my dreams for my good, and grant my wish today. Amen, amen, amen, sela, sela, sela!
2. Reading Psalm 4 seven times at Ayelet HaShachar - to obtain what you want from other people (authorities, colleagues, family members), to win someone's favor. It is best to first say: "ani omer le-shem ploni ben ploni" (I recite this psalm on behalf of such-and-such person).
Prayer after reading Psalm 4 seven times
Yehi ratzon milefanecha, Ado-nai Elo-heinu ve-Elo-hei avoteinu shetitenenu le-chen, ule-chesed, ule-rachamim be-einecha u-ve-einei (name of person), sheya'ase cheftzi u-retzoni va-imale she'elati beyom zeh, sheu yom (name the day of the week and the request), ve-ata El rachum ve-chanun hate et libo lechol asher eshal mimeno, ki lev melech beyad Ha-Shem vechol asher yachpotz, yiten. Amen ken yehi ratzon!
Translation
May it be Your will, L-rd our G-d and G-d of our forefathers, to grant us favor and compassion in Your eyes and in the eyes of (name of person), that he fulfill what I want today, on (day of the week), (state the request). And You, merciful and compassionate G-d, incline his heart to fulfill everything I ask of him, for the heart of a king is in the hands of Ha-Shem, and whatever He desires, He grants. Amen, may it be so!
