Rabbi Yehuda HaChassid (may his merit protect us) — a great Jewish sage and Kabbalist of the 12th century, author of “Sefer HaChassidim” (“Book of the Pious”), taught that one who reads every day the verses whose first letters form the acronym “Avi” (My Father) both forward and backward will be saved from all troubles — all the more so before such a powerful prayer as “Nishmat Kol Chai”:Ata seter li, mi-tzar titzreni – ronei falet tesovveveni sela.Sela tesovveveni falet ronei titzreni mi-tzar li seter Ata.Bitchu b-Ado-nai adei ad, ki be-Yah Ado-nai tzur olamim.Olamim tzur Ado-nai be-Yah ki ad adei b-Ado-nai bitchu.Ado-nai oz le'amo yiten, Ado-nai yevarech et amo ba-shalom.Ba-shalom amo et yevarech Ado-nai yiten le'amo oz Ado-nai.“Kaf HaChaim” (286:8) writes in the name of Rabbi Yehuda HaChassid that if troubles befall someone, he should take upon himself to recite “Nishmat Kol Chai”.After one sees salvation, says Rabbi Yehuda HaChassid — let him recite the prayer “Nishmat Kol Chai” in the company of no fewer than 10 people, with thanksgiving and song before the Almighty.
