The Secret of Tehillim 67

Tehillim 67 is called "Lamnatzeach Bitzurat HaMenorah" - the psalm in the shape of the Menorah. Therefore the Mekubalim advise reading it while visualizing the Menorah, distributing the verses of the psalm along the branches of the Menorah (this can be found in all Sephardic siddurim in the Shacharit prayer): 3 short verses on the right, 1 long verse in the middle, 3 short verses on the left. When reading Tehillim 67, the siddur should be positioned in front of you so that the Menorah is vertical before you. This psalm was engraved on the Shield of King David and his warriors, and with this shield they won all their wars. The Menorah consists of 53 parts - גן "gan": 22 gevi'im (cups), 9 perachim (flowers), 11 kaftorim (knobs), 7 nerot (lamps), 2 malkachayim (tongs), 2 machtot (scoops). Interestingly, the psalm itself also contains exactly 53 words, and the middle, longer verse contains 53 letters.   The Ben Ish Chai (may his merit protect us) taught that it is good to add a Special Prayer during the Ten Days of Repentance (from Rosh Hashanah to Yom Kippur) to the reading of Psalm 67 (it is essential to hold Psalm 67, written in the shape of the Menorah, vertically in front of you). It is also good to do this at any other time for protection and good fortune. The Ben Ish Chai draws attention to 2 encoded Names of Ha-Shem in this psalm: "Elokim yechonenu vivarcheinu ya'er panav itanu selah, Lada'at" - (May G-d be gracious to us and bless us, may He show us the light of His countenance, selah). The acronym (rashei teivot) of the words: "ya'er panav itanu selah, lada'at" form Names of Ha-Shem connected with Parnasa (livelihood) - פאי סאל - both equal in gematria to 91. And also the Holy Name formed from the acronym of the verse: "Eretz natnah yevulah, yevarcheinu Elokim Eloheinu", equal in gematria to "ayin tovah" (a good eye), reflecting Supreme Wisdom.

And for the sake of Your Holy Name (Hei Yud Mem Lamed - הימ"ל), hinted at in the first letters (of the verse): "He shall send His angel before you[27]," open for me the gates of success, and wherever I turn, may I be wise and successful, and fulfill upon me the verse written by Your servant David: "And he shall be like a tree planted by streams of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season, and whose leaf does not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper".)
