Haftarah for Parashat Terumah on Shabbat – a segula for purchasing a home

A powerful segula for success in finding and purchasing a house or apartment on the Shabbat of Parashat Terumah. During the Torah reading in the synagogue, one should be called up for the Maftir aliyah of Parashat Terumah and read the haftarah from I Kings 5. This passage speaks of the construction of the Beit HaMikdash by King Solomon. If a person cannot go to the synagogue, they should appoint a shaliach—ask someone to be called up in their place and read the haftarah for Terumah in the synagogue. In the merit of this mitzvah, they will succeed in purchasing a home. וַֽיהוָ֗ה נָתַ֤ן חָכְמָה֙ לִשְׁלֹמֹ֔ה כַּֽאֲשֶׁ֖ר דִּבֶּר־ל֑וֹ וַיְהִ֣י 26) VA-ADONAI NATAN CHOCHMAH LISHLOMO KA-ASHER DIBER LO; (The L-rd gave Solomon wisdom, as He had spoken to him.)   וַיְצַ֣ו הַמֶּ֡לֶךְ וַיַּסִּעוּ֩ אֲבָנִ֨ים גְּדֹל֜וֹת אֲבָנִ֧ים יְקָר֛וֹת לְיַסֵּ֥ד הַבָּ֖יִת אַבְנֵ֥י גָזִֽית 31) VAYETZAV HA-MELEKH VAYASI'U AVANIM GEDOLOT, AVANIM YEKAROT, LEYASSED HA-BAYIT AVNEI GAZIT; (And the king commanded, and they brought large stones, precious stones, to lay the foundation of the House, hewn stones.)   וַֽיִּפְסְל֞וּ בֹּנֵ֧י שְׁלֹמֹ֛ה וּבֹנֵ֥י חִיר֖וֹם וְהַגִּבְלִ֑ים וַיָּכִ֛ינוּ הָֽעֵצִ֥ים וְהָֽאֲבָנִ֖ים לִבְנ֥וֹת הַבָּֽיִת 32) VAYIFS'LU BONEI SHLOMO U-VONEI HIROM VEHA-GIVLIM, VAYAKHINU HA-ETZIM VEHA-AVANIM LIVNOT HA-BAYIT; (And Solomon's builders, Hiram's builders, and the Gebalites hewed them, and they prepared the wood and the stones for building the House.)   וַיְהִ֣י בִשְׁמוֹנִ֣ים שָׁנָ֣ה וְאַרְבַּ֣ע מֵא֣וֹת שָׁנָ֡ה לְצֵ֣את בְּנֵֽי־יִשְׂרָאֵ֣ל מֵאֶֽרֶץ־מִצְרַיִם֩ בַּשָּׁנָ֨ה הָֽרְבִיעִ֜ית בְּחֹ֣דֶשׁ זִ֗ו ה֚וּא הַחֹ֣דֶשׁ הַשֵּׁנִ֔י לִמְלֹ֥ךְ שְׁלֹמֹ֖ה עַל־יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל וַיִּ֥בֶן הַבַּ֖יִת לַֽיהוָֽה 1) VAYEHI BISHMONIM SHANAH VE-ARBA ME'OT SHANAH LETZET BENEI YISRAEL ME-ERETZ MITZRAYIM, BA-SHANAH HA-REVI'IT BECHODESH ZIV, HU HA-CHODESH HA-SHENI, LIMLOKH SHLOMO AL YISRAEL, VAYIVEN HA-BAYIT LA-ADONAI.
