Zohar on Tehillim 5 – Morning

Tehillim 5:4

- “Ad-nai boker tishma koli, boker e'eroch lecha va'atzapeh - (G-d—in the morning, listen to my voice). Morning is the aspect of Abraham (Chesed), which awakened in the world, as it is written: “And Abraham rose early in the morning”. (Bereishit 22:3)

The reason is that when morning arrives, another Morning (Chesed) awakens in the world. This is the time when G-d desires to show kindness to the entire world—to the righteous and to the wicked.

Therefore, morning is the time for prayer (the morning prayer) before the Holy King.

When Morning arrives, all those imprisoned in the King's prison (sinners shackled by the bonds of sin) find respite. This is the time to pray for them. This is especially true of those who have done teshuvah—they can present their request to the King, since at this time the angel Raphael emerges from the South (Chesed), carrying various forms of healing in his hands. And from the aspect of the South, a spirit emerges and approaches the angel Raphael, who is responsible for healing. When the prayer appears before Kadosh Baruch Hu, He commands His Tribunal not to reveal the judgments, since life is in the hands of G-d and not in the hands of the angels.

And since Morning is a time of special mercy (in the eyes of the Creator), He seeks the merits of people; and if it is found that a person is praying or doing teshuvah, Kadosh Baruch Hu takes pity on him. Then the gazelle heralding the dawn awakens in the world and proclaims: “How great is Your goodness, G-d, which You have stored up for those who fear You”. (Tehillim 31:20)

Then the angel responsible for healing emerges and does everything he has been commanded.
